Grooms Speeches Lines – Some Classics But Be Careful
I have reached the point where my grooms speeches was 50% completed…well at least the base ingredients was already in place. Thanks to the template guidebook.

It is time to spice up the grooms speech a little by adding some witty lines into the groom wedding speech. I did not want to bore the audience to death…I had to make sure.
The potential risk of using some of these witty lines is that your audience may not understand the wit…so no laughter. Ever seen a comedian who makes jokes and no one laughs because it was either a bad joke or the audience did not catch it? Ouch!!
The other risk involve the possibilty of offending or embarassing someone in the crowd with the groom wedding speeches. It helps to know your listeners and in my case I was quite comfortable with my friends and so are they with me.
My advice? Tread carefully with your wedding speeches but more importantly be yourself. If you are not comfortable using these lines in your groom speeches, then don’t. But give it try if you want. It will definitely make your groom speech more interesting and light hearted. Know your audience and you should be okay.
I have found many interesting lines that you can add to your own wedding speech and below are some of my favourites. I hope you may find them “witty” as well (I must confess that it is kind of subjective, though)
1. I’d like to thank the Reverend Grey for the great job he did today at the church. I learned something new during the vows that I hadn’t realised before: that it’s ok to have sixteen wives…four (for) better, four (for) worse, four (for) richer and four (for) poorer. So I appreciate that teaching…..
2. When it comes to talking about my bride’s good points, where do I start? She’s intelligent, generous, hard working, popular and a brilliant judge of character (ahem)…..
3. There are two people not yet mentioned, but without whom I wouldn’t be here. No, I don’t mean the best man and the taxi driver, but my parents, the most wonderful mum and dad in the world….
4. Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. I must say, it’s funny how history repeats itself. Twenty-four years ago, Amy’s mum and dad were sending their beautiful daughter to bed with a dummy – and here we are again today….
5. This is my favourite….I’ve heard a few people comment on how trim I am looking in this suit, which is actually the result of a fitness regime that’s seen me do at least 50 push-ups a day during the run up to this wedding. But I should mention that none of them have actually been intentional – I’ve just been collapsing a lot through nerves and stress….
With some of these grooms speeches lines, I hope that you are able to improve on your own groom wedding speech. But remember, use it suitably and practise it well so that they come across naturally to your wedding guests.
