Hi, my name is Aaron Jameson.  I got married to my lovely wife Amy approximately one month ago in Florida. It was the best day of my life and I had the most wonderful time.

It would not have been so if I had not prepared well for my groom wedding speech. I am really glad that I did but all could have gone wrong if I had not made some “wise” decisions.

That is why I started this site….to share my experience of this matter of the groom speeches with you all so that you can learn from them too.

I did think that it was not such a big deal preparing groom wedding speeches and I put it on my “to do” list when the wedding preparation got on the way.  But then the wedding speech went to my “to think” list not long after that when so many things took priorities.

When the time came for me to really sit down and prepare the grooms speech, I had some many thoughts running through my mind that it was as if I was floating in the sea.

That was when I started to write down anything that came to my mind at that time.  There are stuff such as when I met my wife and under what circumstances that we met, the wonderful things that we did together and so on.  A small piece of advice.  Don’t worry about the arrangements or the language of your wedding speech at this time. You can work on it later. Just jot down what seems precious to you.

One good thing that came out from this exercise was that I have more than enough materials for more than one wedding speeches…enough to even write the bride speech!! Now the challenge was to select the right topics to talk about to ensure that they are can all fit into a 5 minute groom speech.

In conclusion, PLAN EARLY. Never leave your grooms speeches to chance or your ability to give an impromtu speech.  Though it is a short speech, the groom speech will be one of the most important speeches that you will be delivering.

For me, at least I got over the first hurdle of preparing my grooms speech.  You will do well too if you prepare early and remember to write down the salient points you want to share with your wedding guests in your wedding speech.
